The Badgers hit the ground running and never looked back. They got out to a big lead early, going up 14-0 in the first quarter, then adding two more scores in the second to be in control by halftime up 28-0.
Wisconsin held the Wolverines in check throughout the game as their defense intercepted Michigan Quarterback Joe Milton twice, making it a rough night for the first-year starter as he only completed 9 of 19 passes for 74 yards.
This is Michigan’s third consecutive loss as they continue to struggle this season. Their defense has given up 114 points the past three games making it the worst under the Jim Harbaugh led team as he gave no excuses after Saturday’s loss.
“Did not play good, did not coach good. Not in a good place with the execution, not in a good place with adjusting. … Not a good place as a football team right now, and that falls on me.”
The Badgers win was only their second season as they had to take a brief hiatus due to a COVID-19 outbreak within their team, but that didn’t stop them one bit as they were clicking on all cylinders. Wisconsin Quarterback Graham Mertz connected on 12 of 22 passes for 127 yards and one touchdown.
Michigan looks to get back on track as they face Rutgers next week.
