Dallas Struggles
Dallas just couldn’t get a bucket for the majority of the game.
The Mavericks shot 31-of-86 (36.0%) from the field and 11-of-48 (22.9%) from deep. Doncic was the leading scorer for the Mavericks with 20 points.
Doncic looked hurt early in the game as he held his shoulder on multiple occasions.
Dallas just looked fatigued after a blowout win against the Phoenix Suns. The Mavericks heavily relied on the deep ball but couldn’t knock down their threes.
Not only that, they had way too many possessions where they relied on isolation basketball. Dallas had 14 assists compared to the Warriors’ 24 assists.
As for the Warriors, all five of their starters scored in double-digits. Wiggins scored 19 points, Thompson had 15 points, and Draymond Green and Kevon Looney scored 10 points.
“Our focus and our multiple efforts made it tough on (Dallas),” Curry said. “We got momentum and our offense clicked. We got a lot of separation. We did what we were supposed to do.”
Curry answered questions about Wiggins’ defensive performance.
“He’s just showing everybody what he is capable of in terms of the impact of winning,” he said. “I’m happy for him because it’s been more than eight years since he’s been in the league and this is his moment.”
