Vikings Defeat the Lions 34-20

Minnesota- Kurt Cousins threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns as the Vikings secure a second straight victory. Going into halftime up 20-10, Cousins had already thrown two touchdown passes with his third coming at the 7:54 mark in the third quarter, throwing a 1- yard pass to Irv Smith.

Dalvin Cook ran for 206 yards and two touchdowns, one of those coming on Minnesota’s 30- yard line as Cook broke away for a 70-yard run, now holding a comfortable lead 34-13 in the fourth quarter, the Vikings decided to rest Cook.

The Lions Matthew Stafford completed 16 consecutive passes at one point in the first half and led three straight would be scoring drives — Matt Prater ended one with a missed field goal — then things started to unfold throwing back-to-back interceptions in the third quarter before leaving the game just under the 12-minute mark in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a concussion.

This win makes two in a row for the Vikings, who started the season off 0-3 now improve to two games under 500 with a 3-5 record. They’ll look to continue their impressive play next week as they face the Chicago Bears in an NFC North showdown on November 16 at 8:15 pm ET on ESPN.
