UFC Vegas 59 Ended With A 100% Finishing Rate! TUF Champions Named.

Las Vegas, NV – The UFC Apex played host to headliners Thiago Santos and Jamahal Hill in a wonderful night of fights. For the second time in the UFC’s modern era, a card ended with a 100% finishing rate. The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) came to a close, with Juliana Miller (flyweight) and Mohammad Usman (heavyweight) becoming the new ultimate fighter.

Light-Heavyweight: No. 10 Jamahal Hill TKO’s No. 6 Thiago Santos in back and forth thriller

Santos looked to land low kicks early before looking for a level change that Hill foiled quickly. Both fights continued to feel each other out, Santos proceeded by shooting for a takedown up against the cage. Both fighters worked the clinch and attempted to gain position, in the meantime Hill flung a few knees at Thiago’s midsection and Thiago returned the favor. They let the hands go towards the end of the round but ultimately nothing connects.

Hill landed a few kicks down low on the lead leg of Santos to start the second. Santos responded with a level change that pins Hill against the cage. Hill broke free and stunned Thiago with a right hook, Santos looked to take down Jamahal but missed as both fighters moved to the center of the cage. Santos landed a counter left that wobbled Hill who responded with a counter of his own. Both fighters proceeded to throw combinations and kicks up high, with Hill applying more pressure at the end of the round.

Santos landed a takedown at the start of the third that put Jamahal on his back. Hill arose soon after but was met with another takedown. Hill postured up and ended up on top, but this was short-lived as Thiago pushed him against the cage and dumped Hill on his back. He finally worked his way back to his feet but was instantly tripped by Santos, forcing Hill up against the cage. Jamahal unleashed a flurry of knees in the clinch to apply pressure as Thiago still looked for the takedown. He ultimately got the takedown, but the round ended soon after.

Both men traded leg kicks early as Santos backed up to avoid the right hook of Hill. Santos gets clipped going in on a takedown attempt and Hill swarmed him against the cage unleashing a barrage of punches. Santos went down and was met with ground-and-pound from top position. Referee Herb Dean was forced to call it, Jamahal Hill wins by TKO.

Welterweight: No. 13 Geoff Neal upsets No. 6 Vicente Luque in a shocking KO Finish

Both fighters weren’t afraid to trade early as both exchanged combos to the body, with Luque also slamming some low kicks. Vicente looked to apply pressure but Neal stuned him with a jab that wobbled Vicente. Neal pressed forward but Luque fired a hook back that caused Neal to retreat. Neal threw another overhand left that wobbled Luque and sat him down, continuing to apply pressure. He pressured again and threw another combination that rocked Luque, as the bell sounds saving Luque from the onslaught.

Neither fighter looks to back down as both trade one-two’s and jabs early on. Luque hoped to work Neals’s body and slow him down by landing kicks to the left side. Geoff looks to counter the kicks by utilizing his jabs and pressured Luque into a takedown. Vicente gets up and works the clinch with elbows, but Neal continued to pressure forward. Vicente starts to work the counters and goes on the attack, throwing combinations to Neal’s left that push him back until the bell sounds.

Luque came into the round throwing low kicks that Geoff countered immediately with a flurry of jabs. Both fighters looked to pressure each other as they trade at the center of the cage. Neal landed a vicious left that wobbles Vicente and Neal went in for the kill, as he threw everything he could, landing a flurry of uppercuts and a right-hook that floored Vicente. Neal handed Luque his first KO/TKO loss of his career and m akes a compelling case to move up on the rankings.

TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) Heavyweight Final: Mohammad Usman gets the comeback win over Zac Pauga

Pauga landed first with a head kick and a flurry of jabs but was met with a combination on the way out. Both fighters continue to trade blows as Pauga threw another head kick that connected and worked the body of Usman. Usman continued to let his hooks fly but Zac slipped out of them and countered with kicks up high. Pauga worked his jab towards the end of the round and looked to land low kicks as the first comes to a close.

Usman picked his shots and landed a counter-left hook early that slept Pauga immediately. After struggling in the first Mohammad Usman is The Ultimate Fighter.

TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) Flyweight Final: Juliana Miller TKO’s Brogan Walker in Ultimate Fighter Finale

Juliana came out blasting her jab and pressuring forwards, Walker looked to clinch early but Miller worked an inside trip into a takedown. Miller trapped Brogan’s arm and looked to land shots from the top position. Brogan ended up forcing Miller into the tripod position as she continuedto land shots from the mount. Brogan attempted to wrap an arm up into an armbar but ultimately gave up and remained on her back for the remainder of the round.

Both fighters came out firing throwing jabs left and right until Brogan clinched and pressured Miller against the cage. Miller worked a reversal and gots caught in a leg lock, which she escaped with ease. Miller looked to capitalize on Broghan’s position and got the back of Brogan and cranked her neck but ultimately couldn’t hold on. Brogan reversed the position mounted Miller for a moment before backing up to the center of the cage where she was taken down again. Juliana worked the position into full mount and reigned ground-and-pound down on Brogan until the bell sounds.

Miller looked to pick her shots at the beginning of the third as both fighters traded in the center cage. Miller clinched and worked a trip into full mount as she reigned down a barrage of hammer-fists and elbows. He continued to blast Walker with shots from top-position forcing referee Keith Peterson to step in. Juliana Miller is The Ultimate Fighter as she wins via TKO(Technical Knockout).

Heavyweight: Sergey Spivak dominates No.14 Augusto Sakai in a TKO victory

Spivak shot for a takedown almost immediately and used an inside trip to take Sakai down. Went for a quick rear-naked choke but Sakai worked his way off his back and got up but was quickly taken down again. Spivak pressured Augusto against the cage and attempted a choke but was pushed away by Sakai who unleashed a heavy right jab. Spivak returned the favor and continued the pressure against the cage as the bell sounds, round ended with four takedowns from Spivak.

The second round started and immediately Sergey continued to pressure forward, as both fighters exchanged jabs Spivak shot and landed another takedown. Sakai arose almost immediately and pushed Sergey back onto the cage, but Spivak worked a reversal into his own takedown and proceeded to unleash a flurry of hammer fists onto Augusto. Referee Mark Smith warned Sakai to fight back and the fight was stopped soon after. Spivak wins by TKO (Technical Knockout) and launches himself into the heavyweight ranking discussion.
