The Miami Heat have heard all the chatter about how the series is over and how they don’t have what it takes to compete against the Lakers. Sunday night in game 3 of the NBA Finals, they used it as fuel.
Jimmy Butler was nothing short of amazing, putting the team on his back, posting a triple-double 40 pts, 11 asts, and 13 rebs. He also had a message for the Lakers late in the game. You can clearly see Butler saying, “They’re in trouble”, talking about the Lakers. Jimmy stated in a pregame interview, “if we win this one tonight we might be on to something”.
For the second straight game, the undermanned Heat had to play without two starters, Goran Dragić (foot) and Bam Adebayo (shoulder) but they came out aggressive and never let up, while the Lakers came out flat. Anthony Davis with 15 pts, 5 rebs, 3 asts, was terrible in the beginning and it didn’t help that he got into foul trouble early. The Lakers still found a way to make it a game, taking the lead late in the game after being down double digits. Lebron James had 25 pts, 8 rebs, 10 asts and did what he could to keep it close, but Miami proved to be too much.
Things can become much more interesting if Miami can get their two stars back and be at full strength going into game 4.
