
BROOKLYN, NY- Mississippi Valley State recognized running back Caleb Johnson and women’s volleyball setter Mikayla Lee as MVSU student-athletes of the week.

Against the Alcorn State Braves (3-2), he led the Delta Devils (0-6) on the ground with 64 rushing yards on 17 carries.
He also led the team through the air with 48 receiving yards on two receptions. The Junior running back scored the only touchdown for the Delta Devil, which was a career-long 44 yard catch-and-run to the endzone.
Unfortunately, his performance wasn’t enough, as MVSU lost to the Braves 30-7.
The Delta Devils will travel to New ASU Stadium to try and win their first game of the season against the Alabama State Hornets (3-3) on October 15, 3 pm est.
Mikayla Lee
Lee had a great weekend for the Delta Devils (1-14). Her standout game came against the Grambling State Tigers (9-8), as she recorded 13 assists and 10 digs.
This was her first career double-double, and she closed the weekends out with 4.11 assists per game (37 total), 2.11 digs (19 total), 0.44 aces (four total), 0.22 kills (two total), and 0.11 blocks (one total).
Unfortunately, the Devilettes lost to the Lady Tigers 3-0.
MSVU will have their final four game homestand against Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M, Miles, and Tougaloo.
The Devilettes will play the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (3-15) on October 14, 7 pm est.
