Senators Community Foundation Launches Online 50/50 Raffle Draws, Proceeds from Monday’s Game Sales Will be Donated in Honour of Brian Fraser

Date:

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators and the Senators Community Foundation announced today that they will officially launch a new online 50/50 platform beginning March 14 when the team hosts Toronto followed by a $9,999 guaranteed jackpot on Monday when the team hosts Vancouver. Proceeds from Monday’s game will be donated to Canadian Blood Services in honour of Brian Fraser, a passionate Senators fan and News Talk 580 CFRA producer who recently lost his battle with leukemia.

The new online platform will be available to Senators fans throughout Ontario, increasing the number of potential players, leading to more excitement and larger jackpots which result in higher charitable investment totals and a greater overall impact in the local community.

“It’s our responsibility to do what we can to support the community that supports our team,” said Ottawa Senators owner and governor Eugene Melnyk. “We are confident that this new initiative will better fund local programs in need of our support. Additionally, we’re very proud to donate the funds raised from Monday’s game in Brian’s memory given that he was such a staunch supporter of both the Senators and the city of Ottawa.”

Tickets are available now at www.5050sens.com.

Updates on the current prize amounts, winning numbers and claimed jackpots will be posted on the Ottawa Senators social media channels in addition to the team’s website.

About the Senators Community Foundation

The Senators Community Foundation is built on three pillars: mind, body and soul and focuses on strengthening the connection between the team and the community by addressing the issues of accessibility and inclusion.

The Foundation directs its support to organizations and programs that are making a difference for children and youth across the region. To do this, the Foundation applies a team mentality – much like that of the team on the ice – and relies on key partnerships within the community to achieve success.
