PBC on Fox: ‘King Kong’ Ortiz and Sanchez Deliver with Knockouts

Date:

In his first fight since his KO loss to Deontay Wilder, Luis ‘King Kong’ Ortiz scored a quick 46 second knockout over Alexander Flores at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Cuba’s Ortiz landed a right hand to Flores’ ribs and he was unable to beat referee, Thomas Taylor’s count. Ortiz, 41, who has only two professional losses, both to Wilder, now has a record of 32-2 with 27 knockouts. He is currently ranked the #3 heavyweight by the WBC.

The co-main event also featured fellow Cuban and undefeated heavyweight, Frank Sanchez. Sanchez defeated Brian Howard by fourth round knockout and retained his WBO-NABO heavyweight title. Sanchez (16-0, 12 KOs), knocked down Howard once in the third round and twice in the fourth round before the fight was halted.
