The PFL Challenger Series gives fighters the opportunity to join the PFL’s global roster

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The Professional Fighters League, the fastest growing and most innovative sports league, held official weigh-ins for Week 8 of the 2022 PFL Challenger Series, featuring fighters looking for a second chance at a PFL contract. PFL Challenger Series is available on Fubo Sports Network, the live, free-to-consumer TV network from sports-first live TV streaming platform fuboTV Inc. (NYSE: FUBO).

In the main event, welterweights clash as Carlos “The Lion” Leal of Brazil faces American Chris “Breezy” Brown. Leal, who weighed in at 171.2-pounds, returns to the SmartCage for another shot at a PFL contract after the LFA Welterweight Champion turned in an impressive 56-second TKO in Week 2 of the PFL Challenger Series. Brown, who weighed-in at 175.6-pounds, is also an LFA veteran who is riding a three-fight winning streak. The Jackson-Wink product is 8-3 in his career, with five of his wins coming by finish.

In the light heavyweight co-main event, Simeon “Smooth” Powell of Great Britain meets American Tobias “The Heathen” Baker. Powell came in at 205.2-pounds, and was initially scheduled to compete in Week 1 of the PFL Challenger Series, but had to withdraw when he was unable to obtain a visa in time. Now, he gets another shot at the highly-coveted PFL contract. Baker, meanwhile, came in at 206-pounds, and comes in with a 2-1 professional record. Both of Baker’s victories have come by way of first-round TKO.

Also on the card, women’s lightweight fighters square off as  Jackie “The Hybrid” Cataline of the United States meets fellow American Jeslen “The Wrecking Ball” Mishelle. Cataline, who came in at 154.2-pounds, returns to the PFL SmartCage following an impressive first-round submission win back in Week 3 of the PFL Challenger Series. Mishelle, who weighed-in at 155.2 pounds, was also victorious back in Week 3, scoring a first round TKO. Now, the two undefeated fighters square off for another chance at a PFL contract.

Kicking things off is a featherweight contest as Australia’s Aaron “The Educator” Blackie meets Lebanese-American Ali “VIP” Zebian. Blackie came in at 145.4-pounds, and will finally make his SmartCage debut after initially being scheduled to compete in Week 4 of the PFL Challenger Series. Zebian, who came in at 148.2-pounds, brings a ton of experience to his PFL debut following stints with Bellator and LFA.
