Date:

To start the game, Murray made three-straight three-pointers, sparking Iowa on a 20-8 run. He was nearly perfect in the first half with 15 points while shooting 5-of-6 (83.3%) from the field and 3-of-3 from deep as Iowa entered halftime with a 47-30 lead.

He continued to be aggressive adding 8 more points in the second half.

Tony Perkins and Jordan Bohannon were also huge contributors as they combined for 32 points. Perkins scored 13 points while Bohannon was the Hawkeyes’ second-leading scorer with 19 points.

Keegan’s brother Kris Murray came off the bench to provide 19 points and 6 rebounds.

When asked about Iowa’s success against the Wolverines, Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery said that the Hawkeyes had multiple contributors throughout this game while praising Keegan Murray’s impact.

“We have a team where multiple guys contribute. We have gotten better on the defensive end and we have gotten better on the glass,” he said. “Everyone had put in, but Keegan had opened it up for everyone else.”

A Rough Senior Day For Michigan

Thursday night was a special night for Michigan. Not only was it their last home game of the regular season, but it was Senior Day. The Wolverines honored the departing graduate students and seniors with a pregame celebration, honoring Eli Brooks, DeVante’ Jones, Brandon Johns Jr., Adrien Nuñez, and Jaron Faulds.

The night was extra-special for the sixth-year senior Brooks, who played in his 154th game as a Wolverine, a program record.

Unfortunately, tonight was a rough night for Michigan, especially from the three-point line. Michigan missed its first five three-pointers before Brooks made a three-pointer with 7:34 left in the first half.

They were 2-of-7 (28.6%) from deep in the first half and finished the game shooting 7-of-19 (36.8%) from beyond the arc.

The Wolverines didn’t defend the deep ball well either. Michigan is ranked second in the Big Ten in opponent three-point percentage (31.3%). However, the Hawkeyes finished the game shooting 11-of-19 (57.9%) from deep.

Turnovers also plagued the Wolverines as they finished the game with 13 turnovers. Michigan played better in the second half, cutting their deficit to as low as eight, but their comeback fell short.

Hunter Dickinson was the Wolverines’ leading scorer with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Brooks followed with 17 points.
