The Minnesota Timberwolves take Anthony Edwards number one overall in the 2020 NBA Draft. The 6’5 225lbs guard out of Georgia is the player the Timberwolves want alongside center-forward Karl-Anthony Towns and guard D’Angelo Russell.
He averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game in his lone season with the Bulldogs, shooting 40.2% from the field and 29.4% from three.
We look forward to welcoming Anthony to the Timberwolves family as this year’s number one draft selection,” said President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas in a press release. “We are excited to add this young talent to our roster and continue his development to make him the best player he can be as he joins All-Star center KarlAnthony Towns and All-Star guard D’Angelo Russell here in Minneapolis.”
The talent speaks for itself. Edwards’ most intriguing game film came in a showdown with Michigan State, when he erupted for 33 second-half points. He made tough shots, contorting his body to create space with a style clearly influenced by James Harden. Here’s the list of top 10.
