The Los Angeles Lakers held the Golden State Warriors to a season-low 91 points, using a blazing first half to cruise by the Warriors, 117-91.
Lebron James led the Lakers with 19 points, adding 6 rebounds and 4 assists. James played a season-low 24 minutes and did not touch the floor in the fourth quarter. Five other Lakers cracked double figures in scoring, as 12 different Lakers recorded a field goal make.
The Warriors starters combined for only 39 points. No starter played more than 26 minutes as the game was all but decided by halftime. The Lakers dominated from the tip, trailing for only 12 seconds the entire game.
Lakers jump out of the gate
This marked the Lakers’ 7th straight game without Anthony Davis in the lineup. He will be out at least two more weeks with an achilles injury. That did not stop them from dropping 41 points in the first quarter. That is the most points that the Lakers have scored in any single quarter all season.
The Lakers stayed red hot in the second quarter. They jumped out to a 73-44 lead at halftime. Seventy-three marked the highest scoring half for the Lakers this year.
They did it while shooting 45% from three and recording 15 team assists. Five different Lakers make a three in the first half.
The Lakers got 24 points from their bench in the first half. Alex Caruso led the way with 9 points to go along with 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
Warriors’ shooting struggles
The Warriors started slow, letting up a 15-3 run to begin the game. From there, the deficit only worsened. The Lakers led by 25 or more for much of the game, with their largest lead being 35 points.
Steph Curry and the Warriors struggled to find any real offense for nearly all of the game. Eric Paschall led the Warriors in scoring with 18. Most of those points, however, game during garbage time near the end of the game.
As a team, the Warriors shot under 24% from deep, and only 40% from the field. Only three Warriors scored more than 9 points, and none scored more than 20.
Though they out assisted the Lakers, the Warriors were absolutely dismantled on the glass. The Lakers grabbed 25 more team rebounds, including 11 more offensive rebounds. The Lakers also recorded more team blocks and steals and committed fewer fouls.
All in all, the Warriors were trounced through and through, ending their win streak at three.

The Warriors will have two days off before their next matchup. They will look to rebound with a win in Portland against the Trailblazers at 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
