 Vonn Joins Dan Hicks For a Pair of Alpine Skiing Telecasts This Saturday and Sunday on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 21, 2021 – Lindsey Vonn, the winningest woman in alpine skiing World Cup history, will join NBC Sports’ alpine skiing telecasts this Saturday and Sunday on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. Vonn makes her on-air debut as an analyst with NBC Sports’ lead alpine skiing commentator Dan Hicks for the women’s downhill and Super-G events in Crans Montana, Switzerland. 

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents live coverage of the women’s downhill Saturday at 4 a.m. ET with an encore presentation in the afternoon at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. On Sunday, Vonn and Hicks will call the women’s Super-G live at 6 a.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, with an encore presentation at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Vonn is among the most decorated skiers of all time. Over the course of her career, she won 82 World Cup races, which is the most by a woman and second-most all time behind only Ingemar Stenmark of Sweden. Participating in four Olympic games (2002, 2006, 2010, 2018), Vonn amassed three Olympic medals, including gold in the downhill at the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010, where she became the first American woman to win Olympic downhill gold. 

Vonn is one of only seven women to have won World Cup races in all five major disciplines of alpine skiing — downhill, Super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and super combined. She is a four-time winner of the overall World Cup title and won a women’s record 16 career World Cup discipline titles. Vonn owns two career victories at the downhill World Cup stop in Crans Montana, Switzerland, as well as a Super-G podium finish.

  • Breezy Johnson: American Breezy Johnson is expected to compete in both the downhill and Super-G. She has finished on three consecutive downhill podiums and is one of only four American women to earn three alpine skiing podiums in a single season in the last 15 years alongside Vonn, Mikaela Shiffrin and Julia Mancuso.  
  • U-S-A, U-S-A: Team USA is off to their best start since the 2015-16 World Cup season, headlined by five American alpine skiers having a podium finish this season — Shiffrin, Johnson, Paula MoltzanTommy Ford and Ryan Cochran-Siegle.
