Minneapolis, MN – Intense matches filled Dynamite’s “Quake By The Lake” card. With a coffin match, tornado tag match, and two championship defenses by Jade Cargill and Jon Moxley, there was no doubt it would be an action-packed night. Adding the returns of Buddy Matthews, 7-Star FTR and CM Punk, the night kept big moments coming.

Brody King vs. Darby Allin – Coffin Match

Interrupting King’s entrance, Allin attacks, and the match begins right away. Allin wastes no time as he rakes his skateboard filled with thumbtacks across King’s forehead. Bloodied, King breaks the skateboard so it cannot inflict further damage. Darby lands an avalanche code red, leading King outside the ring, where he turns the tide of the match as he drives Allin into the barricade.

King attempts a splash to send Allin through a table outside the ring. Allin rolls out of the way, sending King through the table. Before Allin can fully get the upper hand, the lights go out. When the lights return, Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews are around King. Going for a dive, Allin is tripped by Julia Hart, making it clear Allin is now fighting the House of Black.

King’s cannonball senton sent Allin through a table propped up in the corner of the ring, giving Matthews time to open the coffin, revealing Sting with his bat. After attacking Matthews and King, Sting throws his bat to Black, who leaves the ring.

Allin lands a suicide dive that leaves King near the coffin, but King comes back by throwing Allin into the steel steps and opening the coffin. Allin, paralleling the image of King choking him out over the ropes, chokes King with the chain he wears into the ring. King falls into the coffin with the lid shutting automatically, giving Allin his third coffin match win in AEW.

Lucha Bros vs. La Faccion Ingobernable – Tornado Tag Team Match

Immediately, the action starts and Rush lands a big right on Penta and a belly-to-belly suplex on Fenix. Andrade hits Fenix with a dropkick. Rush and Andrade go for a double pin unsuccessfully. Then, the Lucha Bros pick up their offense, with Penta delivering kick after kick and a DDT on Rush. Fenix joins in with an arm drag, leading to a series of pins.

Penta stops Andrade landing a hammerlock DDT. Rush counters Fenix’s hurricanrana into a powerbomb, and Penta lands a sliding cutter. Penta hits a flip piledriver on the apron, looking next for the Fear Factor, Rush blocks. Andrade goes after Fenix, while Rush ties Penta’s mask to the ropes, forcing him to unmask himself to save the match when Fenix is pinned.

Unable to get his spare mask, Penta stays outside the ring as Fenix is hit with a Hammerlock DDT and pinned by Andrade, giving the win to La Faccion Ingobernable.

Luchasaurus vs. Anthony Henry

Jungle Boy on commentary makes it known this won’t be a long match. And, Luchasaurus made sure Jungle Boy was right. With a lariat and release German suplex, Luchasaurus picks up the win.

Ricky Starks vs. Aaron Solo

Adding insult to injury, after Hobbs turned on him and he lost his FTW Championship, QT Marshal asked Starks to join The Factory, which he obviously refused. Starks and Solo trade punches until Starks lands a clothesline and back body drop. Cole Karter trips Starks, causing him to get ejected from the match. With a jawbreaker and tornado DDT, Starks regains control. Starks sets up the Roshambo, but Solo reverses with a hurricanrana. After a spear by Starks, he picks up the win against Solo.

After the match, Nick Comoroto tries to attack Starks, but Starks lands a spinebuster, antagonizing Hobbs, and escapes through the crowd.

Jade Cargill (C) vs. Madison Rayne – TBS Championship Match

Cargill mocks Rayne, kissing her forehead and patting the top of her head. Dropkicking Jade, Rayne sends her outside the ring. Cargill tries to powerbomb Rayne, but she counters with a hurricanrana.

Back into the ring, Kiera Hogan distracts Rayne, giving Cargill the chance to land a spear. Cargill hits a diving elbow in the corner on Rayne, lifting her into a delayed vertical suplex before going for the pin. Rayne kicks out. Rayne comes back with a jawbreaker, enziguiri and hanging neckbreaker, pinning Cargill for a two count. Cargill wants to go for the Jaded, but Rayne counters with a CrossRayne, only for Cargill to re-counter with Jaded for the win. Still undefeated with a 36-0 record, Cargill retains the TBS Championship.

Jon Moxley (C) vs. Chris “Lionheart” Jericho – AEW Interim World Championship Match

Jericho embraced the fact Moxley wanted to fight Lionheart with his entrance and ring gear. After both men flip each other off, Jericho starts the match with an arm drag. Both seem to want to finish the match early as they go back and forth. Jericho takes Moxley to the mat as he locks in a modified Octopus hold. Moxley escapes, trading kicks with Jericho until Jericho rips Moxley’s earring out of his ear.

Jericho lands multiple clotheslines on Moxley, putting him on the top rope for a hurricanrana. Jericho then takes Moxley to the ring post and puts him in a hanging figure four. When the two are back in the ring, Jericho nearly taps as Moxley locks in a Fujiwara armbar before transitioning it to a crossface. Jericho rolls through, putting Moxley in the Walls of Jericho.

From the top rope, Jericho lands a codebreaker for a two count. After Sammy Guevara throws Jericho his bat from the crowd, Jericho hits Moxley and gets another two count. Jericho throws Moxley into the exposed turnbuckle and a Judas Effect, earning another unsuccessful pin.

Moxley uses a sleeper hold and Bulldog choke before Jericho locks in the liontamer. Escaping by launching Jericho into the exposed turnbuckle, Moxley goes for a rear naked choke, but instead hits Jericho with many elbows to the back of his head. Now able to lock in the choke, Jericho taps, and Moxley retains his AEW World Championship.

The Jericho Appreciation Society and the Blackpool Combat Club battle it out in the ring until “Cult of Personality” plays and CM Punk makes his return. Punk and Moxley have a staredown until Moxley flips punk off and leaves the ring.

Quake By The Lake continues Friday on AEW Rampage on TNT, featuring FTW Champion Hook and Bryan Danielson interviews and matches with Sonny Kiss, Orange Cassidy, Danhausen and the Gunn Club.
