Browns hold on to beat Jaguars 27-25

Date:

Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry led the way for the Cleveland Browns to win their 8th game of the season as they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-25.

It’s been a rough season for the Jaguars as they’ve dropped their 10th game of the season and fired GM Dave Caldwell, but that didn’t stop them from giving the Browns a scare late in the game.

Jacksonville got on the board first, scoring a 54-yard field goal, but quickly lost that lead as the Browns responded with a touchdown from Mayfield to Landry, ending the first quarter up 7-3.

As the two teams traded field goals and touchdowns ending the first half, the Browns took a 17-13 lead heading into the locker room. Jags, Mike Glennon hooked up with Tyler Eifert on a 2-yard touchdown pass (two-point conversion failed), going up 19-17. Browns scored a 45-yard field goal before the third quarter came to an end.

Browns went on an eight-play, 90-yard scoring drive, finishing with a 1 yard run by Nick Chubb at the top of the 4th quarter to give his team a 27-19 lead.

Jacksonville gets the ball back with 5:29 remaining, going 78 yards on eleven plays, scoring a touchdown by James Robinson from 4 yards out with a chance to tie the game, but failing on the two-point conversion ending the game 27-25.
