SAVANNAH, GA – Fyter Fest Night 2 on AEW Rampage kept the action coming after Wednesday’s Dynamite with high-energy tag team matches and the Johnathan Gresham ROH Championship defense.

John Silver and Alex Reynolds vs. Malakai Black and Brody King

With two teams that never fail to put up a good fight, Reynolds and Silver’s double team nearly got them the victory over House of Black. With a boot to King’s jaw, an enziguri kick, and a thrust kick, Reynolds takes King down with a Jacknife pin. Black lands a drop kick from the farthest corner of the ring to break the pin. As hard as the Dark Order fought for the win, Reynolds could not kick out after King hit him with Dante’s Inferno giving the win to the Kings of the Black Throne.

Jonathan Gresham (C) vs. Lee Moriarty – ROH World Championship Match

After Gresham turned on Moriarty last week’s Rampage in a tag team match, both men came to the ring accompanied. Gresham had Tully Blanchard, Gates of Agony, and Brian Cage at his side, while Moriarty had Matt Sydal.

This slower-paced match picked it up in the end. With quickly exchanged strikes and back-and-forth roll-up pin attempts. Gresham finally kept the upper hand as he caught Moriarty mid-kick, stomped on his foot, and locked him in the Octopus Hold until he won by submission to retain his championship.

Kris Statlander and Athena vs. Renegade Twins

In the quickest match of the night, Statlander and Athena continue their pursuit of Jade Cargill’s TBS Championship against Charlette and Robyn Renegade. Statlander and Athena showed off their teamwork as Athena landed a double knee to the face from the top rope, as Statlander lifted a Renegade for her to target. When Athena landed her finisher, the O-Face, it was over for the Renegade Twins as Athena won the match for her and Statlander.

However, their celebration was short-lived as Cargill and Kiera Hogan enter the ring, taking out Statlander and Athena and leaving them lying there.

Private Party vs. Lucha Bros

Due to the high-flying abilities of these teams and the fact that AEW fans have not seen them wrestle each other in years, there were high expectations for this match. While both teams had moments that felt like they completely had the win, once Jose the Assistant and Alex Abrahantes got into it outside the ring, it opened the door for everyone to interfere with the match.

Penta Superkicked Andrade to stop him from interfering. With the referee distracted, Rush seized the opportunity to come to the ring and hit Penta. Quen tried to surprise Penta for the win from the distraction, but Penta countered with a Canadian Destroyer, tagging Fenix in for the Black Fire Driver. Further fueling the Lucha Bros’ feud with the Andrade Family Office, they defeat Private Party.

Fyter Fest continues Wednesday on Dynamite in Duluth, GA.
