CHICAGO, IL – Ahead of All Out, Rampage determines whether the Best Friends and Orange Cassidy or Dark Order and Hangman Adam Page move on to face The Elite for the AEW World Trios Championship. Ricky Starks takes on QT Marshall. And, in a rematch from last week’s Rampage, Ruby Soho and Ortiz fight Tay Melo and Sammy Guevara, except this time it’s not for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship.
Dark Order and Hangman Adam Page vs. Best Friends and Orange Cassidy – AEW World Trios Championship Tournament
From the start, this was exactly the match Dark Order and Best Friends should have. Trying to curse Hangman, Danhausen is ejected from ringside. The dynamics between Hangman and Cassidy, Hangman and Silver, the Best Friends with each other, and Dark Order with each other were everything they should be, making this a fun match.
When Cassidy climbs the Best Friends to splash their Silver, Hangman comes in to save Silver and the match. After landing an Orihara moonsault on Taylor, Hangman is nearly caught in a German suplex by Beretta off the top rope. Hangman flips through Beretta’s suplex attempt, landing on his feet. Catching Cassidy in a Dead Eye, Hangman pins him for two.
Silver and Reynolds try to keep up the momentum Hangman built, but the Best Friends start to come back. Cassidy gets a two-count. Best Friends hit the Strong Zero on Reynolds. Taylor Awful Waffles Silver for a two count. Hangman attempts to hit Taylor with a Buckshot Lariat but is hit with an Orange Punch instead. Taking advantage of the chaos, Silver rolls up Taylor for the win.
Rey Fenix vs. Blake Christian
In a quick match, Christian showed he could keep up with Fenix, especially when it came to landing on his feet outside after a flip over the top rope. However, Fenix quickly ended this match with a sit-out piledriver, picking up the win against Christian.
Ruby Soho and Ortiz vs. Tay Melo and Sammy Guevara
These teams didn’t hold anything back in this match. Ortiz and Guevara start, and Ortiz forces Sammy into the corner, landing hit after hit. Melo went after Soho on the apron, pulling her down, sticking her previously injured arm between the stairs and ring, and running into the stairs.
In the ring, Soho backheel trips and repeatedly headbutts Melo until she tags in Guevara. Later, Soho made sure to balance her headbutts out and give one to Guevara too. With Ortiz, Soho lands a cazadora on Guevara and Ortiz follows up with a senton for a two-count. After this nearly successful double team, Ortiz and Soho go to suplex Guevara and Melo, but Soho takes hers into a roll-up for the win.
Ricky Starks vs. QT Marshall
This match didn’t even start in the ring. Starks barricaded The Factory in the dressing room and dragged Marshall through the crowd to the ring. After a superplex and spinning DDT, Starks had nearly won the match.
Once The Factory escaped, they made their way to the ring to give Marshall a watch to use against Starks, but Starks took out The Factory with no problem. After this, Marshall was trying to end the match with a Diamond Cutter and Cross Rhodes, but Starks landed a spear. After a Rochambeau, Marshall was down, and Starks won the match.
After Starks’ win, Hobbs came out, trying to take Ricky out before their match on Sunday. All Out on Sunday, September 4, sees Ricky and Hobbs against each other where officials won’t be able to separate them and the Dark Order and Hangman Adam Page as they battle the Elite for the AEW World Trios Championship.
